Studio Policy (Teacher - Student Agreement)

Please ensure that you are comfortable with all the below points before you make your decision.

  • The student should be comfortable with a physical/online class schedule. There will be times when the teacher will take online classes instead of physical classes (the time slot will remain the same). The student can also choose to take an online class in lieu of their scheduled physical class.
  • The class will be for 60 min every week at a scheduled day and time slot.
  • We’re proud to be a cozy, pet-friendly space. Our gentle dog, Kaan is a quiet, calm presence in the studio once she gets to know you and loves being part of our musical community. She is non-aggressive, up to date on vaccinations, and used to being around students of all ages. If you or your child are uncomfortable around dogs or have any allergies, we can consider doing online lessons. We want everyone to feel safe and happy during their lessons. By joining the studio, you acknowledge and accept the presence of the dog.

Practice, Attendance and Punctuality

  •  For students below the age of 16, parents/wards must actively ensure that daily practice schedules are adhered to. Regular, daily practice is the single most important requirement in musical progress and learning.
  • A minimum of 50% attendance (measured on a quarterly basis) is mandatory. This is to ensure musical progress and learning. In the event the student does not meet the minimum attendance requirement, the teacher will suggest that the student drops out until they have more time to commit.
  • If a student is late for the lesson, this simply takes time out of the lesson, i.e. the lesson will start when the student arrives and will still finish at the usual time.

Schedule

  • Lessons are scheduled at a mutually agreed time of joining.
  • If a student/parent wishes to change their lesson slot mid-term, it can be discussed on a case-by- case basis. However, this is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.

Missed Lesson:

  • If a student will be missing their lesson for any reason, they should inform the teacher by text or email with as much notice as possible.
  • No make up classes will be given if the student misses a class, however a specific or general video lesson will be made and sent for the lesson missed, if informed at least 24 hours before.
  • If the teacher cancels a class for any reason, a make up class will be given.
  • No make up classes will be given for classes that fall on the holidays that are observed by the studio.
  • There will be no classes during the Summer break (1st June to 5th July) and Winter break (23rd December to 5th January). No fees is applicable for the Summer break.
